Vietbay accompanies SHTP and Siemens EDA to develop human resources for semiconductor in Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, February 27, 2024 – CONFERENCE ON DEVELOPING HUMAN RESOURCE FOR SEMICONDUCTOR IC DESIGN VIETNAM 2024 was organized by Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP), Siemens EDA and Vietbay. Within the framework of the conference, Siemens EDA and Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop human resources and ecosystem in the field of semiconductor IC design in Viet Nam.

The shift of global semiconductor production chains is opening up great opportunities for the Vietnamese semiconductor industry. However, for the semiconductor industry to develop in the coming time, investing in human resources and highly qualified experts is determined to be a key factor to ensure the success of the semiconductor development strategy. Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park Management Board has identified human resource training for the semiconductor industry as one of the key activities during this time, aiming to realize the goal of semiconductor industry development.

In this conference, Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP) and Siemens Electronic Design Automation Company signed a cooperation agreement to develop human resource for semiconductor industries in Vietnam.

All agreements are based on promoting the advantages and experience of them. While the High-Tech Park is good at in training human resources for the semiconductor industry, Siemens’ strengths is provide design software and coordinate IC/PCB design training activities. According to the memorandum of understanding, Siemens EDA commits to sponsoring Siemens’ most advanced chip and board design support software for Vietnam through the Ho Chi Minh City CNC zone and commits to providing training services through through partner Vietbay and accompanying SHTP in promoting the development of human resources for semiconductor IC design in particular and the semiconductor electronics industry in general.

Mr. Bui The Duy – Deputy Minister of Science and Technology and Mr. Vo Van Hoan – Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee witnessed the cooperation signing ceremony between Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park and Siemens Electronic Design Automation PTE.LTD

“We believe that the cooperation agreement between SHTP and Siemens will accelerate the training activities to develop human resources in the semiconductor field which provide opportunities for students to access advanced technologies in design and design verification of semiconductor, and accumulate practical experience to succeed in high technology. We believe that this cooperation will significantly contribute to enhance the operational capacity of the Electronic and Semiconductor Center (ESC) and to the development of the semiconductor industry for Ho Chi Minh City, as well as the overall economic growth of Vietnam.” shared Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of the Management Board of the Saigon Hi-Tech Park.

In this ceremony, Mrs. Nina Lin, Vice President and General Manager of Siemens EDA mentioned: “We know that the Vietnamese Government has many promotional activities to create conditions for leading technology corporations to participate in building the semiconductor industry ecosystem as well as increase foreign investment in Vietnam. Siemens EDA Company is ready to cooperate to promote the semiconductor electronics industry in Vietnam “.

After the conference, the Siemens EDA company delegation visited the Electronics and Semiconductor Center (ESC), where Siemens EDA highly appreciated Vietnam’s training model.
