10/05/2024

Siemens Digital Industries Software and Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP) have recently established a cooperation to develop talent and human resources for the semiconductor industry in Vietnam. With the goal of becoming an international standard science and technology center as well as a new growth engine for the Southeast region and the whole country, SHTP is aiming to build and develop foundational and strategic industries. strategy for Vietnam.

Main target

In order to promote the development of the semiconductor industry, an important strategic field in Vietnam, SHTP has cooperated with Siemens, focusing on three main goals: advanced technology transfer, training, and the development of high-quality human resources; and promoting connections between academia and businesses in the semiconductor industry.

Mr. Lincoln Lee, Vice President of Engineering, Siemens EDA Pacific Region, is introducing Siemens technical solutions.

Highlights

The highlight of the cooperation plan is the integration of Siemens’ electronic design automation (EDA) software solutions into the built-in integrated circuit (IC) and printed circuit board (PCB) design training programs. Building on SHTP’s experience in semiconductor industry training. Thanks to multi-dimensional coordination, SHTP and Siemens aim to create an ecosystem of innovation and sustainable development for this key industry in the country.

Established in 2002, the 913-hectare Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP) aims to promote the development of high-tech industries and other innovation activities in the region. SHTP currently has over 162 investment projects being implemented, from start-up projects with research organizations to projects initiated by multinational corporations.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park Management Board, and Ms. Nina Lin, Vice President and General Director of Southeast Asia, Siemens EDA, attended the signing ceremony.

Nina Lin, Vice President and General Manager Southeast Asia, Electronic Design Automation (EDA), Siemens Digital Industries Software, said: “We are living in an era of increasing digital innovation. accelerates, where knowledge, commerce, and communication around the world can be widely and easily accessible. The speed of digital transformation will increase even faster as many companies begin to apply artificial intelligence (AI) to their systems to exploit and generate revenue from the rapidly increasing amount of data generated by all activities. created by digitalization. Siemens technologies will help empower customers to transform their industries and lead the market while supporting human capital development for industries, especially the semiconductor industry.”

“At Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park, we identify human resource development in the semiconductor industry as one of our key activities, aiming to realize the goal of developing the semiconductor industry of Vietnam. It’s also strengthened our vision of becoming a science and technology center—a new development driving force for the Southeast region and Vietnam in general,” Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of the Management Board at Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park, shared.

“We believe that the cooperation between SHTP and Siemens will help promote human resource development in the semiconductor field. Besides, it also creates opportunities for students to access advanced technologies in design and design appraisal for semiconductor circuits. From there, it helps them accumulate valuable practical experience to succeed in the future. We believe that this cooperation will significantly contribute to improving the operating capacity of the Electronics and Semiconductor Center (ESC) for the development of Ho Chi Minh City’s semiconductor industry as well as Vietnam’s overall economic growth.”
