Vietbay and Siemens met, exchanged, and discussed cooperation with the University of Economic and Technical Industries (Uneti)

02/02/2024

On the morning of June 9, 2022, the University of Economics and Technical Industries (Uneti) welcomed, met, discussed, and exchanged cooperation with Vietbay Company and Siemens at the 218 Linh Nam facility, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi.

Participate in the program:

On Vietbay Company, there were Ms. Dam Thi Hong Lan – Director; Mr. Cao Van Lanh – Technical Director of Vietbay.

On Siemens, there was Mr. Luong Van Minh – Technical Manager of Siemens.

On the University of Economics and Industrial Technology, there was Dr. Pham Thi Thu Hoai – Chairwoman of the University Council, and leaders of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Electricity, Electronics, and the Center for International Cooperation

Overview of the discussion

Starting the cooperation discussion, the Unite has a general introduction about the University and international cooperation activities. After that, there is a detailed introduction to the Mechanical Engineering departments, Information Technology, Electricity, Electronics, practice rooms, experiments and scientific research activities.

Dr. Pham Thi Thu Hoai – Chairwoman of the Council

After the School’s introduction, Ms. Dam Thi Hong Lan – Vietbay’s Director introduced the trend of smart manufacturing technology and digital solutions from Siemens. That is the Industry 4.0 Laboratory model. The industrial 4.0 laboratory system has the function of researching and developing scientific and technological topics and conducting training courses to provide high quality human resources, ensuring to meet the needs of businesses, market and society. This laboratory system includes a full range of solutions to meet the requirements of product design and development, mold manufacturing, 3D printing connection, factory digitization, planning and operating production, automation connection and cloud computing data collection (IoT) in accordance with the technology trend of Industry 4.0. The Digital Industry Laboratory is also a practical training center currently being invested in and built by many universities and large corporations. The Digital Industrial Laboratory system may have one or more interconnected centers. For example, the Digital Factory Lab – Smart Factory Lab may include 5 Centers: Center 1 – Product development design center; Center 2 – Mold and 3D printing center; Center 3 – Factory digitalization center; Center 4 – Basic drive and automation center; Center 5 – Advanced drive and automation center.

Ms. Dam Thi Hong Lan – Director of Vietbay presented the 4.0 industrial laboratory model

At the same time, Ms. Dam Thi Hong Lan explained why she chose Siemens technology. This part was presented in detail by Mr. Luong Van Minh – technical manager of Siemens. Siemens is currently the only company in the world that provides a full range of hardware and software to meet the entire industrial production chain and using the product with full technology that supports the management of the product lifecycle. Siemens is considered number 1 in the world in terms of technology solutions promoting digitalization in production. Siemens solutions are also being widely used in businesses, so after being trained at the university, students will be able to immediately meet job requirements at businesses without needing additional training.

Siemens technology eliminates barriers and gaps between engineering disciplines in training, including mechanical, electrical, electronics engineering, computational simulation, collaboration, software development, automation, system management. Siemens’ application platform can be applied to many different industrial fields suitable for multidisciplinary training at schools, from high-tech fields such as aerospace, electronics and semiconductors, and automobiles, motorbikes, civil goods… Currently, many large corporations in the world are applying such as Boeing Nasa, Suzuki, Nissan, Samsung, Canon, LG… Nissan, Samsung, Canon, LG are investing heavily strong in Vietnam and consequently their suppliers, most of the above corporations as well as their suppliers use Siemens technology. This makes it advantageous for students to participate in working at enterprises if trained in advance right from university. This model has been successfully built at a number of universities in Vietnam such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, Hanoi University of Industry, Open University…

Mr. Luong Van Minh – Siemens technical expert

After listening to the presentations of Vietbay Company and Siemens, Dr. Pham Thi Thu Hoai – Chairwoman of the School Council proposed representatives of Vietbay Company and Siemens to visit the practice rooms of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology, electricity, electronics, field surveys. Besides, it’s time for listening the wishes and aspirations of representatives of teachers and leaders of faculties and building appropriate consulting plans on the application of the 4.0 industrial laboratory model.

Representatives of Vietbay and Siemens completely agreed with the proposal given by the School.

The collaborative discussion and survey tour ended at 12:00 the same day./.
