Siemens signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with HaUI to cooperate in developing the Digital Laboratory

On January 26, Siemens and Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking an important step in the long and successful cooperation journey of the two sides

According to the Memorandum of Understanding, Siemens and HaUI commit to: 

– Strengthen cooperation to develop digital laboratories at HaUI, to promote science and technology development towards Industry 4.0 

– Siemens coordinated to organize a workshop with HaUI to update and train on Siemens’ latest technology in the fields of automation and digitalization. 

– Siemens will propose necessary equipment and software for CMCN 4.0 training at HaUI’s Digital Laboratory and support the implementation of practical training at these laboratories. 

Expressing his pleasure to welcome the Siemens leadership team, appreciating and recognizing the achievements of cooperation between the two sides over the years, Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc – Principal of HaUI emphasized: Thank you Siemens for always working side by side with Hanoi University of Industry, to modernize and update training programs, so that students can study and become familiar with modern technology at the university.

With HaUI, regularly improving the quality of training programs is an unchanging motto. Cooperating with businesses through updating technical technology and equipment plays an important role to help HaUI improve training quality, the Principal continued to affirm.

Siemens began to cooperate with Hanoi University of Industry in 2012, through a program to sponsor a number of automatic control equipment for the Faculty of Electrical Engineering; Providing CAM NX software to the Mechanical Engineering Department in 2017.

Thanks to the project “Smart Factory Research Center” (coordinated by Vietbay company to implement and transfer technology in 2022, located at the Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, HaUI), students have improved their ability to analyze and design monitoring and control systems, industrial control, simulation, automated production applying 4.0 technology integrating IoT. This is a very valuable experience for students while still at school, Dr. Kieu Xuan Thuc emphasized.

Also at the signing ceremony, Mr. Bob Jones – Standing Vice President, in charge of global business, spent time sharing about promoting digital transformation and improving skills for industry 4.0. He said that: The world is constantly changing, political conflicts, climate change, changes after the Covid pandemic… Vietnam is still in a good position, with many strengths to catch the trend of transformation. With digital changes such as human resources and competitive advantages in costs, many foreign businesses are investing in Vietnam.

Mr. Bob Jones emphasized: The young generation, especially students, need to change to adapt, plan, manage time and master technology. 

At the end of the signing ceremony, Siemens representatives and the University’s leaders visited the Smart Factory Laboratory, located on the 5th Floor, Building A10, Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, HaUI.
